The Comedy Club Election Night Special

Many were still heading to the Polls as the sell-out show commenced in Essex’s premier Event venue The Lion House Function Suite.

Comedian Andy White opened the show at 9.00pm & got the whole audience laughing straight away….it looked like the 200 + crowd was up for a laugh tonight!

Then it was time for Glaswegian Comic Larry Dean who delivered non- stop laughs throughout his set with beautifully crafted material. Then followed a short spot from Saskia Preston with her quirky unique style.

The show interval started as the polls closed at 10.00pm! The audience of over 200 “Hung” around writing their jokes for the joke competition, quaffing their drinks & chuckling excitedly about the first half of the show.

The General election featured in the joke competition with different parties at odds whether their joke would win….. or it would be a tie ?

As Vote Laughter continued there was one true winner in the room overall with a brilliant crafted joke. Well done Beccy ! The whole room  agreed & laughter was flowing.

Before the laughter was “hung” out to dry top Comedian Phil Butler took the stage with great material, a few cheeky props & pure Comedy Fun, leaving the whole audience aching with laughter! One lady was crying tears of laughter and was rewarded with a hug from the ever charming Comic Phil Butler. Phil now goes off for a 3 month season headlining Cromer pier & then a Nationwide Tour supporting Comedian Paul Zerdin

The result?  Vote Laughter had well and truly won on the night.
