Victoria Wood to be remembered

The late Victoria Wood is to remembered with a statue of her in her home town of Bury.

Victoria’s brother Chris Foote – Wood has set up a crowd funding page to raise funds of £20,00 required. The appeal has already raised a third of the required monies.

Bury council have set aside an area in the gardens which is opposite Bury’s  library.

Victorias brother  has said ‘the council will not be paying for the sculpture, but they have agreed to upkeep and maintain the statue after it is built.’

The statue is expected to be completed and erected by early next summer.

Comedian Victoria Wood who was originally born in Prestwich then moved to Burry with her family. Victoria attended Bury Grammar School for Girls.
