Comedian & Comedy Legend Tommy Cooper has been honoured with a English Heritage Blue Plaque award.

His former house at 51 Barrowgate Road in Chiswick West London received the plaque this week. Tommy lived at this address with his wife Gwen and two children from 1955 until he collapsed and died on stage in 1984.

Tommy’s house was a meeting point for many comedians, including Jimmy Tarbuck and Eric Sykes who made regular visits.

Crowds of fans donned fez hats during the unveiling at the address. The Plaque read ‘’Tommy Cooper, 1921 - 1984, Comedian, lived here 1955 - 1984"
