THE LORRAINE BOWEN EXPERIENCE
Known as ''The Queen of Casio'', Lorraine performs with high voltage energy all her own material; high camp eccentric comedy and loveable, unforgettable songs in a dazzling array of exotic costume changes, playing the keyboard with every available part of her anatomy!
Her cult following at London top venues such as Comedy Camp and Duckie, sing the words to the Spinach song as Lorraine leads them on her crumhorn, and split into groups for the ''tongues, tongues and testicles'' chorus of her ''Burger Song''. Holding her mirror ball aloft and blowing soap bubbles, members of the audience set the romantic mood for numbers like ''I'm in love with Julie Christie'' and then she'll get them all singing ''More cheese on me pizza please'' on her eccentric Omnichord! Lorraine may start her act on an exercise bike for ''Bicycle Adventure'' or in 50s Doris Day mode for the equally infectious ''Lemon Disinfectant''
Her self-penned, self produced CD releases are ''Greatest Hits'' Volume One (1995) and Greatest Hits Volume Two (1998). 2000 saw the release of her latest and greatest CD, ''Bossy Nova!'' All are available from her website, major London stores and Other Music in New York. She also appears on John Shuttleworth's radio programmes and BBC CDs.
Live, she has appeared at many festivals and clubs all over the world including The Edinburgh Festival, Glasgay, The Chard Women In Music Festival, Manchester's Mardi Gras, US fringe festivals in San Francisco, Minneapolis and Florida and she headed the Women in Comedy bill at The Vancouver Comedy Festival. Her TV appearances include BBC2's The Ozone, Channel Four's The Divine David Show, Adam and Joe's Take-Over TV, Big Breakfast and many ''bits'' on the Canadian/US TV network. Her radio credits include writing the theme tune and performing a song every week on Radio Two's comedy half hour, Heated Rollers with Lynda Bellingham.
Fabulous fun, she can whip up a crowd and get them singing along - even in Canada!
