Aged just 19 Russell plotted himself on the comedy map by getting to the final of Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny? competition in only his fifth ever gig.
Russell has been busy cementing his place as one of the hottest properties in comedy with his BBC6 Music show every Sunday, loads of Mock The Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks on BBC2, Would I Lie To You? and two series of Live At The Apollo on BBC1, Law of the Playground on Channel 4 and Tough Gig, The Brits and The British Comedy Awards on ITV.
He has had A complete sell out at Edinburgh 2004-2006 Russell sold every ticket of his 2007 run before the Festival had even started and couldn't add extra dates fast enough.
His second solo tour 'Adventures' in Autumn 2007 was again a complete sell out including selling London's Bloomsbury Theatre out in a day before adding three extra shows sold out shows. Due to overwhelming demand, nineteen final extra dates were added to 'Adventures' for Spring 2008 including a sell out homecoming gig at Bristol's 1700 seater Colston Hall.
