REX BOYD
Rex Boyd started doing comedy in his hometown of Kansas City in 1986. A couple of years later he was working the London alternative comedy scene as well as street performing regularly at Covent Garden. This was followed by four years globe trotting the festival circuit before finally settling down back in England where Rex has been an unusual highlight of the comedy club circuit ever since.
In addition to performing as a stand-up comedian, Rex Boyd is also well known on both the comedy club and street festival circuits for his audience participation Robin Hood show, headlining comedy clubs and appearing at festivals all over Europe. He also draws on his expert skills as a juggler from time to time, making him an extremely adaptable and versatile performer in any setting.
''This is the second time he has been here in six months and still utterly brilliant. I think you could watch this act over and over again and still find it funny. He is definitely in the top 5 funniest acts who have ever appeared at this club'' .- Martin Mullaney, Cheeky Monkey Comedy Club
''It's a refreshing change to see an act that dares to be so different from peoples expectations, truly breaking the proverbial mould and doing it with such style and confidence that only the most humourless among us could possibly be left unimpressed.'' Simon Kimber
Any man who can recreate the story of Robin Hood on a small comedy stage, has to be either mad or some sort of genius. And when he can persuade members of the audience to join in, you know he's both. Rex started doing comedy in his hometown of Kansas City in 1986 and after a few years globe trotting, made his base in England in 1994, where he has been an unusual highlight of the comedy club circuit ever since. After 17 years as a variety act, in 2003 Rex decided to add a dose of straight stand-up into his already popular while continuing to close the show with the afore-mentioned Robin Hood show. The move worked and he is now possibly the best ''new'' act on the comedy circuit.
