PAPA CJ

Papa CJ is an Indian comedian who has earned 'street-cred' by repeatedly demonstrating cutting edge wit reflected in entertaining delivery and is storming rooms across the United Kingdom.

Winner of the You Must Be Joking Competition, Papa CJ has been conquering milestone after milestone at an astonishing pace on the UK circuit. He has worked in the best comedy clubs in the country, tamed the intimidating audiences of the King Gong Show at the Comedy Store in London and successfully closed a rowdy, full-house Late 'n' Live on the final weekend of the Edinburgh Fringe.

Papa CJ is rumoured to be a direct descendent of the Maharaja of Merebaapkaraj (pronounced Mere-baap-ka-raj) in India. The young prince has scaled an 18,000 ft peak in the Himalayas, trekked into the Grand Canyon, flown paragliders and jumped out of an airplane. The qualities that come with these turfs are reflected in his performance and one reviewer had described him as ''possessing the energy and attitude of an Indian Chris Rock''.

Like Mary Hirsch, Papa CJ believes that humour is like a rubber sword - it allows you to make a point without drawing any blood. Papa CJ is therefore not afraid to stand out from the crowd and challenge hypocrisy and his humour aims to make you laugh for five seconds and think for ten minutes.

Papa CJ has also set up the charity, 'One Child', which provides for the education, health and overall development of children in rural India. He works with a fellow Director to raise awareness and funds for this organisation, whose work covers formal and non-formal education, child and women's health, microfinance and disaster preparedness.
