RAY PEACOCK

Clearly immensely talenteddemands to be seen'' - SUNDAY TIMES

Ray Peacock was born last century in Yorkshire were he still lives. After being made redundant in the late eighties he opened his own butcher's shop, where he became a master butcher despite having no knowledge to this day of 'which bit he is cutting'. He retired from butchery in the late 90's (leaving the shop in the charge of his son Darren who was unable to gain employment elsewhere on account of being 'backward').

He sprung to public prominence in his notorious bid to become Lord Mayor of London. With his campaign slogan ''Bringing warm Northern sensibilities into shit Southern lives''; his manifesto was given a lukewarm reception, in particular the bits about enforced seven-day-a-week karaoke in all London pubs and making outside toilets compulsory in the Capital. It was eventually claimed by 'The News Of The World' that Ray had as much knowledge about politics as he did of butchery. A high profile libel case was eventually thrown out of court when Ray showed his political ignorance by declaring Ken Livingstone a 'Southern tit'.

Ray starred in The Comedy Zone, which was a sell-out show at this year's Edinburgh Festival and now tours the length and breadth of the land with his unique, informal chats - playing to sell out crowds (admittedly primarily bloody students). Always controversial - always unpredictable - and always - telling it like it is

''Immaculately funny'' - Time Out
